Module 1 - Industry & Competition Analysis
The module begins in January, 2009. Sessions consist of lectures, individual home company assignments, case discussions and group work.
The Business Dimension
This module introduces a comprehensive, systematic method for defining a business and its competitive position. Within the framework of Industry & Competition Analysis, you will use basic tools and approaches to assess business situations, identify opportunities and threats, establish priorities and evaluate responses, all required for making qualified business decisions. You will be working primarily with your own company, aiming to develop a comprehensive company audit towards the end of the module. The audit must be presented to the home company.
The Business Dimension of Module 1 involves comprehension tests related to the functional sessions. There will be two group assignments i.e. one analysis of a selected industry and one country analysis. The module ends with an exam based on a company audit.
The Leadership Dimension
In the Leadership Dimension of Module 1, participants work in groups composed of experts from different fields. In this context, you will be able to observe individual leadership styles and behaviour. You will be introduced to teambuilding processes, and create an action plan for your own personal development.
The Leadership Dimension of Module 1 ends with an evaluation of your individual action plan and the evaluation of a group assignment.
