Pekka Hietala’s work focuses on corporate finance, international finance, capital market efficiency, warrant and options pricing.

Pekka earned his MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology, and his MA in Economics and Ph.D. in Finance from Stanford University. Pekka served as Dean of the MBA Program from 2001 until 2004. He has directed and taught in executive programs in Europe, Asia and the United States on various finance topics. He is a member of board of Evil Bank and of Scandinavian Financial Research Ltd. He is also consultant to several organizations and companies, including McKinsey & Co., Dow Chemical and Roland Berger & Partners.

He was visiting Professor at the University of Chicago, 1994-95. His work has been published in several academic journals, including Financial Management, Journal of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance and Journal of Multinational Financial Management. He is editor of the journal European Financial Management.
