General
SIMI’s long-standing flagship program in the medical area, the four-module program in Managing Medical Product Innovation (MMPI), and the newly introduced certificate program in Medical Marketing Strategy (MMS) have both proven to be extremely successful in meeting the needs of the industry.
We have decided to build upon this success, and offer the new master degree to candidates who wish to have an alternative to a full-fledged E*MBA. The new Master of Medical Business Strategy (MMBS) is shorter and more flexible than an E*MBA since it does not require a fixed chronology to complete its curriculum and is restricted to the context of the medical products industry.
Earning an MMBS requires accumulation of the equivalent of 60 points on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). No fixed order is required except for the final step which can only be undertaken after completion of the first four. Candidates will have two years to complete the curriculum.
An MMBS thus entails the following 5 steps:

I.Personal Leadership Development (10 ECTS points)
II.Strategic Business Development (10 ECTS points)
|
Each program offered is complete in itself, and can be taken individually or used toward earning the MMBS.
After completion of the first four steps, if a candidate wishes to sign on to undertake the individual assignments toward earning an MMBS, SIMI will assign faculty advisors and a personal tutor and the sponsoring company will assign a home company executive advisor. There are no classroom requirements in step 5. The assignments are conducted individually by the candidates following a pre-approved work plan by SIMI.
The tuition for each component of the Masters program is scaled, commensurate with the size of the team nominated by each participating company. The overall tuition for the full Masters program of study will thus be based on the tuition payable by each candidate for the various components, the total ranging between €35,000 to €39,000.
