General

The Managing Medical Product Innovation (MMPI) Diploma program is designed for managers in pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The program develops and encourages innovative thinking and improves product and process innovation initiatives within their organizations. Evidence has shown that improving innovation is one of the keys to profitable growth.

This modular program provides participants with practical and relevant ideas, principles, and frameworks to deepen their understanding of the market and competitive framework for the medical products industry. Participants learn to manage uncertainty and risk better, and strengthen their ability to identify and maximize innovation opportunities. It enables participating managers to:

  • Design an overall innovation improvement and implementation initiative in their own companies in home company assignments supervised by senior faculty from leading business schools as well as experienced executives and advisors to industry
  • Develop an understanding of major cross-company industry issues to contribute to home company debates on strategic innovation
  • Provide new market opportunities and bring new products to market by developing a deeper understanding of the product development phase in the value chain
  • Build an understanding of their personal leadership style in the context of relational skills to help guide them in working in teams as team leaders as well as team players
  • Build a broader professional network within the industry, comprising more than 400 medical alumni, which is beneficial to both participants and their sponsoring companies
  • Earn a diploma that is recognized by the industry and increases the professional worth of the individual

Program Structure: 4 modules of 4-5 days (module 1 requires 5 days), with about six weeks between modules.

Dates in 2011: The first module starts 3 January. The last module ends 17 June.

Tuition fee: To obtain maximum benefit and enhance cross-functional cooperation, participants are admitted in teams of 2 - 4, ideally from the same product or therapeutic area. The program fees (excluding VAT) are below. Prices may fluctuate slightly.

Fees cover all course materials and food during the program. Travel and lodging expenses are not included.
