The food industry has shown value growth in recent years. Shoppers have bought more premium products than ever and nutritional products, bridging the gap between pharma and food, are being introduced. At the same time the industry is under price pressure since both shoppers and institutional or industrial customers are seeking low price alternatives. The industry has naturally observed this, and the response has been a stronger and more explicit focus on value innovation. Ingredients, materials, and equipment suppliers are seeking solutions that, for example, provide competitive advantage and cost optimization for manufacturers. Consumer goods companies are seeking new markets and new, sharper positions in existing markets.

It is a fair assumption that the present financial crisis will put further pressure on prices. To develop relevant innovation strategies and implementation plans could therefore be more important than ever.

To impact the companies’ capabilities in dealing with current and future business development, SIMI offers training programs for managers and executives.

Managing Food & Beverage Innovation (MFBI)

This 4 module Diploma program on Managing Food and Beverage Innovation provides managers with solid tools and frameworks to think about and act on innovation in a strategic context. The program builds capabilities to define growth initiatives, fill them with content and design actionable implementation plans. Participants are from small and large companies representing consumer goods companies as well as suppliers. They represent diverse functions such as marketing, R&D, NPD, sales and supply chain. By completing a home company assignment as part of the program, participants develop and deliver actual plans for a business unit at the home company including a strategic outlook, operational recommendations and an implementation plan.
