Four themes differentiate SIMI from other institutes involved in executive training:

• Impact is a guiding principle for all we do at SIMI. Our executive programs enable participants to repeatedly practice what they learn and to deliver direct value to their sponsoring organization. We achieve this by balancing relevant and recent in-class content with home company assignments, where participants are required to deliver against targets agreed with their home company sponsor. SIMI manages and facilitates this process under full confidentiality.
• We consider that business leaders need the ability to combine business management and personal leadership capabilities. Thus our training provides specific personal leadership skills and/or change management competence.
• We do not believe in one expert telling many what is right or wrong.  Our faculty do not set the agenda for our programs – the needs of the industry set the agenda. We have shown that bringing together industry executives and an expert faculty creates more challenging and relevant learning than listening to a generic business management lecture.
• Having a group of executives with a collective 300 years of industry experience on one side of the table and faculty representing cutting edge research in innovation management, for example, on the other, generates a rich and dynamic experience.

The Industry Diploma Programs at SIMI deliver against all these themes in an effective and efficient way. SIMI focuses on serving a limited number of industries indepth and secures a supply of relevant and recent content at all times. Each industry is served by programs targeting specific management capabilities and ranging in length from 2 - 6 months.
